FAQ’s

Q: How long is our booking for?

For most of our rooms you’ll have a maximum of 60 minutes to make your escape inside any of our Escape Rooms. This time doesn’t include time for your safety brief beforehand, or the chance to spend some time chatting/ taking photos after your game. when playing an Escape Room it is best not to rely on being in and out of the building in exactly 60 minutes, just in case you need the full time allotment.

Floor is Lava bookings run for a duration of 20 minutes at a lower price of only $20/player. If you only have a short amount of time on your hands, the Floor is Lava is the perfect activity to squeeze into the middle of your day!

Q: What time do I need to arrive?

Please make sure you arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time. Any teams that arrive later than their allocated booking time risk losing play time in the room.

Q: What is the best way to reach the venue?

If you’ve driven, the easiest parking venue is at the council-owned Bruce Bishop car park (fees apply) and to enter the arcade via 9 Beach Road. We also have street access to the arcade at 38 Cavill Avenue and if you’ve caught the tram or bus this is usually the closest entrance.

Q: What is your COVID-19 plan?

Here at Lost Locks we are dedicated to making sure all of our guests are welcomed into a clean, safe and sanitary environment. We ensure that all our rooms, facilities and lobby are cleaned and sanitized regularly. We ask that all guests maintain a 1.5m safe distance between themselves and others if concerns arise. If you are feeling unwell please call us anytime to reschedule so that you may play our games while feeling your absolute best.
We are following all government-issued guidelines and recommendations. We understand that these may change suddenly and will adjust our service accordingly as recommended by any newly-issued government notices as we receive them.

Q: What is the minimum age requirement?

There is no minimum age requirement for any of our games, however our Raunchy R18 room in particular happens to feature very mature themes. Please check the individual room descriptions or confirm with our team on 07 5613 3535 any time if you have concerns towards the suitability of our games for your group.

Q: Is there a dress code?

We recommend you wear enclosed shoes for any Escape Room bookings and an outfit that you feel comfortable moving around and exploring in. The Floor is Lava is best played in socks, we sell socks for only $3 if you don’t have any with you.
Feel free to also come in dressed up in costume if that’s what you want to do!

Q: Are these private bookings?

Yes – we don’t double book or fill your room with anyone outside of your group – so the team that you book and pay for are the only players who will be joining you inside of our games.

Q: Are your games language dependent?

Unfortunately all of our Escape Rooms require a solid understanding of written and spoken English both for the puzzles you may encounter and so that we can send through clues through our hint system.

The Floor is Lava can be played without a heavy reliance on the English language and learning to play takes as little as a few minutes inside the game.

Q: Are there any live actors / jump scares / dark spaces / other concerns I should be aware of?

If you have any concerns about the room you’re planning on playing please don’t hesitate to contact us on 07 5613 3535 so that we may assist you with information specific to the rooms you are curious about.

Q: Something has happened and I can’t make my booking: Can I get a refund or reschedule?

We’re sorry that you won’t be able to make it as planned. We have a 24 hour refund or reschedule notice policy so please let us know as soon as you can. Our team will always endeavor to assist you with your booking as much as we are able to.

Q: How big can my team be?

Listed in the room descriptions are recommended group sizes however if you would like more or less in the one room then feel free to call up and speak with our Game Masters about the perfect team size for each room.

Q: Are Companion Cards accepted at your venue?

Yes! We accept valid companion cards as a means of entering the room with those that require assistance. Valid companion cards and ID must be presented at our reception upon your arrival in order to be utilized.

When booking online, please do not include any companions in the amount you are booking for as they will not be included in the final price. Please be aware when booking with a companion card, that our minimum room fee is $110 for an Escape Room or $40 for the Floor is Lava. This means companion card bookings are recommended to include a minimum of two players, plus the companion required for additional assistance.

Q: Do you have an elevator into the venue?

We have elevator access via 38 Cavill Avenue. If you are planning to use our elevator, please call ahead on 07 5613 3535 or send someone from your group upstairs to let us know, as the elevator cannot be accessed by the public without a key fob.

Additionally, please be aware that access to the elevator requires traversal up a single flight of stairs, containing four steps. If a helping hand up these stairs is required in any way, please let us know so that we may assist you. For a reference of the stairs mentioned, please see the image below.
